Meet the Speakers
Carla Chizmar
Head of Environment, Social and Governance, CIFI
Carla Chizmar is Cifi’s Head of the ESG department. Her 18 years of experience span over the areas of scientific research, applied sciences for global problems, sustainable development, clean energy, climate change, green lending, and impact investment. At CIFI, Carla manages E&S risks and impacts prior to investments, supervises portfolio ESG performance, stakeholder engagement, identification of green business opportunities and funding, development of tools, and reporting with transparency. She holds a BS degree in Biology from the University of Panama, a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Yale University and is Certified in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy from a joint program of Yale School of the Environment and the School of Management.
Charlie Brunel-Lister
Sustainable and Climate Finance Consultant, South Pole
As a project supervisor and manager at South Pole, Charlie works together with passionate teams to advise private, public and not-for-profit organizations on how to align with a 1.5ºC economy. His area of interest and expertise spans various topics including ESG and sustainable finance, climate finance, science-based targets, carbon pricing and transition risks.
David Diaz Formidoni
Head of Financial Institutions Investments, Climate Finance, responsAbility
Studied Economics & Philosophy at Columbia University and International Affairs at Sciences Po Paris. Over 13 years of experience in development investments, intergovernmental organizations and impact-oriented initiatives. Leads the sourcing, structuring and execution of investments via local financial institutions for responsAbility's climate fund. Expertise designing green lending strategies and tailoring technical assistance programs for financial institutions across Latin America, Eastern Europe & the Caucasus, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia Pacific. Born and raised in Ecuador, extensive experience working and living in developing countries.
Marie Anna Bénard
Project Manager & Gender Equality Advocate, responsAbility
Marie Anna is Project Manager at responsAbility. She structures and manages programs to facilitate investments and leverage the impact of various funds managed by responsAbility in emerging countries. Marie Anna is also a strong advocate of gender equality and leading responsAbility’s various initiatives around gender-lens investing. She has over 11 years of experience in the impact investing sector, with expertise in financial inclusion, sustainable agriculture, and climate finance.
